Daily Torah Verse

Terms of Use

Effective November 1, 2026

These terms apply when you use the Daily Torah Verse app and this website. By using them, you agree to these terms. If you got the app from Apple's App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. If the two conflict, these terms govern, except where Apple's terms say otherwise.

Using the app

The app is free for personal, non-commercial use. Please don't misuse it. For example, don't try to get into other people's data, overload our servers, or copy the app or its database in bulk.

The texts

The Hebrew text is Miqra according to the Masorah (MAM), edited by Seth (Avi) Kadish and used under a CC BY-SA 4.0 license. We show it without cantillation marks and with small formatting changes. The English text is The Holy Scriptures (Jewish Publication Society, 1917), which is in the public domain. Both were retrieved through Sefaria. Calendar data comes from Hebcal.com under CC BY 4.0. The full list of credits is on the app's About screen.

The verse selections, the app's design, and its name and logo belong to Daily Torah Verse.

Not religious or professional advice

The app is for daily learning and inspiration. It isn't a substitute for guidance from a rabbi or teacher. Candle-lighting, havdalah, and holiday times are calculated estimates and can be wrong for your exact location. Please check them against a local calendar or your community before relying on them.

Availability and changes

We may change, pause, or stop any part of the app at any time. We'll try to give notice of big changes, but we can't promise the app will always be available or free of errors.

No warranty

The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Daily Torah Verse and its makers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the app, which is currently nothing. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

Ending your use

You can stop using the app at any time and ask us to delete your data (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend access for anyone who misuses the app.

Changes to these terms

If we update these terms, we'll change the date above. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
